No one knows the actual history of Cooper Stanica. It’s one of those strange things that you can’t quite make out in the shadows, but it does have a strange ring to it if you say it fast. Most likely, this is why many sources now refer to it as "Stanica" rather than Cooper Stanica. This year marks the third edition of Stanica with its newest edition hitting shelves on October 19th. Thumbing through an advance copy for this book we found that we were able to identify some new and exciting additions – such as new frogs and dragonflies – that will surely please even the most particular folk out there who enjoy hunting these animals down in their natural habitats. This third edition includes an introduction from our Editor, as well as a new section covering South American frogs and how they may be confused with those from tropical regions. We begin with a main list of the reptiles and amphibians that can be found in South America, then go into detail on each of these species – going into color on some, and going into many different methods for identifying them. In the hunting section we also take a look at the importance of both native and introduced species – covering both areas where you can be successful as well as the areas to avoid. In addition, we have added a new section on insects – many people make this mistake and start hunting for snakes, only to find themselves cut short by whatever kind of insect they happen to be chasing after. This book will enable anyone to become an expert in identifying these animals much earlier than they would otherwise be able to do so. We continue with a detailed guide on which animals might be found in certain regions and even take a deeper look at some of the common land-locked species that may or may not live in your area. We have also added a section on how to take care of your catch – the best kind of information that you can ever hope to find in any hunting or fishing guide. We go into detail about proper hunting methods, as well as the best type of bait to use with each animal. We have also added a number of different pages dedicated exclusively to marsh frogs and how they are uniquely endowed by their natural habitats.
