Hi, this is Jan. I am writing about the new movie "Evil Dead 1". After seeing trailers on TV, I was very excited to watch it. It has some of the best horror scenes that I've seen so far! One of the scariest parts of the movie is when she's in her car getting pulled away by a dark force while headlights are coming towards her. It's too hard to explain here, but go find out for yourself! The way they made it seem like there was some kind of entity or force that you couldn't control….you had to see it for yourself! The best part about this movie was how straightforward and consistent they kept their story line…it never got confusing. I watched this movie in under 2 hours. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes horror movies! They should see it on DVD so they can get more of the bonus features and see the behind the scenes stuff. — Jan, 5th Grade Revised: 2013-07-24 by: VirginiaWright | Updated: 2013-08-05 by: VirginiaWright The opening of "Evil Dead" is a very well done homage to one of the primary inspirations for the movie, John Carpenter's 1976 shocker, "Halloween". Ash is seen lying on floor with a severed hand lying next to him and some blood on his face. The camera then focuses on the car that he crashed into a tree, whereupon the hand comes to life, crawls toward him, seizes his face and pulls him back through the windshield. The movie continues with Ash regaining consciousness in front of a cabin where he finds a tape recorder. He listens to an audio recording made by his girlfriend who is implied to have been possessed ("I know I'm running out of time"), gives "her" words of encouragement, and is then seen unloading the trunk of his car. Suddenly, demonic entities begin appearing outside and he hides inside. He then realizes a book that he brought into the cabin has a picture of one of the demons in it, which then appears in the room. In a jarring, abrupt scene change, Ash is shown driving his car on a road. He stops to investigate an apparent animal carcass hanging from a tree branch only to be suffocated by tree vines. Blood drips from his mouth as he screams. In another abrupt scene change Ash is shown standing before a mirror brushing his teeth and shaving off several days' worth of beard growth ("but how?"), and then going to sleep in bed with his girlfriend Linda inside a cabin. One of the demonic entities, covered in blood and wearing a bandage around its waist, crawls into the room and grabs her as an arm with a drumstick attached to it is visible. It then begins to strum with its invisible stick as she splits into two identical duplicates. One is then seen climbing out of the room, with her head on one side and body parts on the other, holding a knife with which it repeatedly stabs the entity's inverted torso. The entity climbs down and slowly walks away from the cabin as Ash stands frozen in his closet. cfa1e77820
